Heo Nanseolheon was a Korean poet who authored "Nanseolheonjip" during the early Joseon dynasty. Born in 1563 (18th year of King Myeongjong), she passed away in 1589 (22nd year of King Seonjo). Growing up in a literary family as Heo Gyun's younger sister, she learned to write over her brother's and younger sibling's shoulders. Facing an unhappy marriage and conflicts with her mother-in-law, she led a lonely life, finding solace in books and poetry. At the young age of 27, in 1589, she left this world. According to her last wishes during the Imjin War, all her works were burned, but some pieces were conveyed to the Chinese poet Zhu Zhiben by her younger brother Heo Gyun, and they have been published in China, preserving her legacy.
